Job Description:
- Assist client to reduce the impact of his disability by encouraging him to carry out basic tasks of daily living
- Provide personal care, which may include bathing, toileting, brushing of teeth, and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Assist in regular exercises (eg walk in the park, playing ball, bowling, swimming etc) and ensure safety in the recreation centers or any other place where that is done, including the home
- Administer medication and keep medical records
- Accompany client to medical appointments
- Prepare meals and feed client adequately
- Perform light house cleaning duties and ensure the home is hygienic at all times
- Laundry
- Report any deterioration in health promptly to the Manager
Job Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (both orally and in writing)
- Knowledge of the local language of the client is very critical if client does not speak English
- Secondary (High) School graduation certificate
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Current Police information check including vulnerable sector (not older than 6 months)
- Child intervention record check
- Good work ethics
- Experience working with the special needs children is an advantage but training is available to applicants without experience
- Physically strong and healthy
